Eksportfinans is coorganizer of the Norwegian Finance Day on September 22 in Houston, in close cooperation with the Guarantee Institute for Export Credits (GIEK), the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Houston and DnB NOR. The subject of the day is “ Look to Norway: Cutting Edge Technology – Attractive Long Term Financing”. The principal objective of the event is to offer potential US purchasers of Norwegian capital goods and services an overview of which financial vehicles are at hand to make business with Norwegian suppliers more attractive. The final programme of the event which takes place at Federal Reserve Bank in Houston is now available.
Keynote speakers are Mr. Bill Gilmer, Senior Economist of the Federal Reserve Bank and Mr. Torbjoern Kjus, Senior Oil Analyst of DnB NOR. They will present an updated overview of the macroeconomic conditions and the current market situation in the oil and gas sector. Mr. Lars B. Hasle, Conference Moderator and Senior Vice President of Eksportfinans, and Ms. Jasna Stojanovic, Senior Adviser of GIEK follow with a presentation of the different guarantee and financing facilities available for US purchasers of Norwegian capital goods and services and how to proceed in order to apply and obtain access to the facilities.
Finally, Mr. Griff Lane, VP Strategic Business Development and Commercial of Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine, Mr. Harald Dirdal, Partner and Project Manager of HAVGUL Clean Energy, Mr. Thomas Nyheim, Regional Director of REC Systems North America and Mr. Mark Reese, President of National Oilwell Varco Rig Division, share their experiences with the mentioned guarantee and financing facilities. There will be an Q & A-session after each speech.
All together this should constitute a useful introduction to the competitive and long term guarantee and financing faciltities available to existing and potential customers of Norwegian export in the US.
The event will be hosted by The Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Houston in close cooperation with Eksportfinans, GIEK and DnB NOR and in consultation with the Norwegian American Chamber of Commerce in Houston and Innovation Norway.
